KG6MDW - New gateway

Hello Everyone!

I now have a VHF Packet (1200) Station online in Fairfield, CA. I'm using the same frequency as the local OES/ARES - K6SOL.

The goal of my gateway is to link HF, VHF and AREDN in Solano County.

Station Setup:

VHF:
- Motorola Radius @ 5w on 145.730, 8dbi mobile antenna (Will upgrade in the future)
- KPC 3+ TNC (1200 Packet)
HF:
- Icom 706MKII @ 30w 40M,20M,15M,10M via Alpha Delta DX-EE facing East/West.
- Masters Communications RA-33 (VARA Wide)
Note: HF is offline as I wait for improved weather to install the antenna.

PC:
- Virtual Server running on Unraid.

Network:
- Internet: Comcast
- AREDN: Tunnel to CCCC; 3ghz link to Mt Diablo, Currently working on 5ghz link to Mt Vaca (VVRC) and Sugarloaf.

Site is has emergency power with UPS, Tesla Powerwalls and Solar, and Generator.

Outstanding Volunteers

The Winlink system is run entirely by volunteers. Those called Gateway Station Sysops, who support and run over a thousand stations around the world, are special. They are essential for providing the radio network that allows us to use Winlink radio email. Without them, there is no Winlink. Apart from the Gateway Station Sysops and Development Team, there are other volunteers that run e-mail groups and tutorials, manage user accounts, register software, update the network's assets and catalogs, test and debug products, provide training, and independently write software.
