K6ETA Station Upgrades
After analyzing the most popular bands used on the K6ETA WINMOR RMS, I decided to upgrade the HF antenna to an OCF dipole that is polished off with an LDG AT100ProII autotuner. This should make 80M, 40M and 20M reach quite a bit farther. The only compromise is we had to give up on 15M.
Additionally, the RMS Packet frequency is now on 145.630 in the hopes that other packet nodes will appear on that frequency. Currently the San Francisco North Bay has a lot of 144.910 infrastructure (including two WL2K RMS gateways on that frequency), so we are building out the 145.630 infrastructure to augment that. The Novato Community Hospital (NCHND) has been switched over to 145.630 in order to link North Marin with this new RMS and the English Hill repeater site near Sebastopol may soon add a 145.630 node as well. That would cover a large are in the SF North Bay.
