User account

IMPORTANT--PLEASE READ!

WEB SITE LOGIN ACCOUNTS ARE SEPARATE FROM RADIO EMAIL ACCOUNTS. They exist to provide sysops and certain users access to password-protected information and provide security to users who want to participate in forums or comment on site content.

Most WL2K radio email users will NOT need an account here, as most information is available without logging in. Access to your Winlink radio email is available through "Webmail" on the main menu with a separate password, and does NOT require this registration.

Successful logins on this site require your browser to accept cookies. Please create an exception allowing cookies for www.winlink.org if you have medium or higher security set. Java must also be installed on your machine.

INSTRUCTIONS

Assign yourself a personal username. We prefer you use your callsign as your username. A unique e-mail address is required for each account. You will be able to login using EITHER your username or your email address together with a password.

DO NOT USE A WL2K (WINLINK.ORG) E-MAIL ADDRESS, or a forwarded address (arrl.net).

You will receive an automatic confirmation message from wl2ksitemail@gmail.com containing a temporary password to which you must reply the same day to complete your registration. Please see to it that our server's email address is not blocked as spam by you or your ISP. If our confirmation message is undeliverable, if you respond to the validation message after one day, or if you register with an unaccepted or invalid call sign, your account will be removed. You can register again if this happens.

MARS ACCOUNTS

Request MARS access by indicating so in "Apply for role" below. Please do not apply if you are not qualified or do not hold a MARS license. Include your valid MARS callsign in the "Other callsigns" field below. Use your personal MARS call sign (not a billet callsign) and enter separately your FCC amateur call sign where indicated ('Amateur call sign').

MARS callsign validation and authorization is a manual process performed by WL2K administrators after you create an account. This may take up to 24-48 hours, but usually much less. Please wait and then log in again to see if the MARS menu in the left column becomes visible. If you have allowed sufficient time and still see no MARS content, contact the webmaster and ask that it be enabled.

Account information
You may wish to use your legal call sign, but it is optional; Amateurs should use their government-granted call sign. MARS operators should use their personal (not billet) MARS call sign.
