Winlink 2000 Stations
The Winlink 2000 system would not exist without hundreds of WL2K station operators around the world. These operators (sysops) provide the Radio Mail Server (RMS) stations and radio links upon which WL2K users depend.
Some sysops operate public HF stations and concentrate on providing service to maritime mobile users, or users who have no other access to e-mail, like a remote medical team or expedition. Others maintain stations for emergency communications, and many are on VHF, UHF or SHF as well as HF.
Each WL2K sysop has access to a web log ("blog") on this site for publishing information and bulletins about their station. All the latest sysop postings are available with a click. See what's new at your favorite stations! (You must have logged into the site first at "Site Login" on the menu.)
- PUBLIC STATIONS
A continuously updated status report of public and EmComm RMS HF stations and VHF/UHF packet stations is on this site under the "Maps & Reports" menu. These status reports, along with other handy status and location reports are also available from the WL2K Catalog using Airmail or Paclink, category WL2K_USERS.Real-time maps of stations on the air make finding one near you easy. See the "Maps" menu item.
The Winlink 2000 Public RMS HF Frequency List, a text file that can be imported into Airmail and Paclink user software, is available on this site. You can generate a current list and downloaded it from here.
In addition, the public RMS HF Frequency list can be obtained using Paclink and Airmail from the WL2K Catalog, category WL2K_RMS, as the item RMS_PACTOR. This allows you to obtain and update current lists without needing an internet connection.
- EMCOMM STATIONS
WL2K EmComm sysops and users will find an importable list of EmComm RMS HF stations behind a menu item in the "Maps & Reports" menu when they are logged in and have been pre-authorized as an EmComm station. EmComm RMS sysops and EmComm organizations privately handle distribution of this list to EmComm operators and members in their local area. Individual EmComm operators may request authorization to access this list from the webmaster, referencing their ARES or RACES unit membership information, including the e-mail address of their ARES Emergency Coordinator or RACES Officer. - MARS STATIONS
Authorized MARS and government stations will find access to MARS station information on a special menu after their web user account has been approved for MARS content and then have logged in with their verified MARS call sign.
