RMS Packet Unable to connect to Local Host on RMS Relay

I have an RMS Packet station setup with the following:
Yaesu FT-8100
KPC-3
IBM ThinkPad Laptop
Linksys WRK51 4-port/Wireless Router (Laptop wired via Cat 5e to Router)

A station will connect to the RMS and it seems the localhost is going to sleep or something as after 30 seconds or so RMS Packet sends a msg to the user "Unable to connect to Localhost" and forces a disconnect. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it that I can see as I have witnessed a person connect very shortly after a successful transaction and recieve this message.

In watching the transaction, it appears to take about 35 seconds for RMS Relay to talk to RMS Packet and by the time the call sign shows up in Relay, the disconnect has already been forced.

If the station reties, a connection is made immediately and all works as it should.

Is there a setting somewhere to extend the wait time or way to keep Local Host alive?

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Chris

Dale,

I have sent your keycode and password at least three times, and you apparently are not getting it. Check your spam folders at both your local machine AND at your ISP or email provider! We are not getting a bounce by your provider, so it is probably getting snagged by your spam filters. It easily happens to email with links and nonsense strings in them.

RMS - RMS Relay Disconnect

Lor,
Any thoughts on the disconnect from LOCALHOST problem?

Thanks!

RMS Relay Disconnect

It sounds to me like a local routing/priority issue in your TCP/IP setup. Try using address 127.0.0.1 instead of 'localhost' and see if the same thing continues. If you have IPv6 enabled, you might also disable it and test again. Also post on "Winlink_Programs_Group" at yahoogroups.com for a faster answer. and better support.

Dale,
Lor got a password to me the next day and I was up and running! Like he posted, I would suggest checking your spam or junk email. You might consider having it sent to your WL2K account and retrieving it that way :-)

Best Regards!

You might also try giving you laptop a Static IP address and set that in lew of local host or 127.0.0.1 It also makes it simpler to open inbound ports to a static Address.

Second,
Ensure that your NIC isn't set to allow the comouter to turn it off to save power. A lot of laptops do that. Also disable power mgt.

Hope that helps...
