Victor Poor Presents "Winlink 2000 -- an Update" at the DCC in Chicago

A lot has happened in the evolution of Winlink 2000 (WL2K) since Victor Poor, W5SSM, AAA9WL, presented his last paper at the Des Moines Digital Communications Conference in 2004. That paper presented the then current architecture as well as the plans for changes to accommodate ARES and RACES emergency operations. Vic's current paper provides an update of its current design and implementation.

You can download Vic's paper and Powerpoint presentation. See the attached files below.

Attachment issues

Hi Finn,

There is a documented Microsoft bug involving the mechanism used for downloading complete files from these attachments. If you have troubles (only some will be affected), login and try the downloads area of the site. There is a direct link above in the article.

Attachement issues. One more left.

Tnx Lor
It helped for one of the files using the link iin the article. Only one left.
Smallest of the trouble files - ppt does not show up from the link in the article. Not found Error H04

Ps. I have not forgotten the issue abt checking the center or mark freqs on the Europe RMS stations, but have not been able to go on AIR since we commented.
But I did hear others had experienced similar discrepancies on some stations around the same time. But they too didnt make an accurate notation.
You will get feedback when this is ok from my side.

Beta Tester

I am interested in being a beta tester for WINMOR. Because I have a soundcard type interface, a RigBlaster Pro, I am limited to VHF packet on RMS at the moment and would love to incorporate HF.
