New EmComm Stations in Austria
Submitted by OE7FTJ on Fri, 02/29/2008 - 10:12.
Due to increasing Austrian activities for preparedness in emergency communications we decided to setup some RMS's. For more than a year OE7XLR-13 was running as a Telpac gateway. After migrating to RMS Packet a few weeks ago, it works perfect and is fully operational. It is open to everyone and can be reached 24/7 via the packet radio network, or directly through the entry port OE7XLR (QTH Innsbruck).
RMS Pactor is in heavy beta testing here. At the moment connects under my individual call OE7FTJ can be accepted in P1, P2 or P3 when the station is manned only.
Information about further Austrian stations will follow!

Brand new RMS station in Maryland
I'm gonna give this a try. We should be on the air by the end of next week (4-30). Putting new vertical on the tower at the 100' level. Tower is on a mountain ridge at 1750' just north of Frederick, MD. No RMS access points near me. I have a 25KW generator and being in the sticks means internet access is via satellite. Hopefully, this site will be bulletproof and have a generous coverage area. Send reports of signal strength to wn3r@verizon.net. Freq is 145.75 MHz.
