Locating a Winlink 2000 System User

Should you determine that a familiar vessel is missing, anytime, anywhere, or should you wish to contact a Winlink user, please review the information below:

  • Finding a Winlink user who posts position reports
If you cannot reach your party and know their Amateur radio call letters, click here and look for a recent position report. There are several different services on that page for finding the missing Winlink 2000 user. You may need to try them all.

  • The Boat Watch Network
A world-wide group of maritime radio networks including Amateur Radio, Marine networks, the U.S. Coast Guard, and similar agencies from other countries, all coordinating an effort to locate missing vessels or assist troubled vessels. Contact the Boat Watch Network administrator.

  • You might also want to contact the Maritime Mobile SSB Networks and report the vessel missing or request contact.
  • Contact Steve, K4CJX, the Winlink 2000 system administrator for further information.
