Winlink VARA-FM Gateway Station WA7TPB-10

Hello to the group,

My name is Chris, and I am the system operator for the 2 meter WA7TPB-10 Winlink gateway station. I have noticed over the past month or so that there are radio operators in Jefferson, Island, and Clallam counties that have successfully connected to my station: AH6EZ, K7AHS, K7MRW, KD7WSG, KF7QYL, KI7AUH, W6EJE, W7TBL, W7WEC, WA4DFT, N7KN, WA7GJZ, KJ7PWM. And, for the curious, I thought it a good idea to let people know how the station is put together.

KF7RSF Gateway running , but crippled

Gateway is back on the air in a limited fashion.
VHF is OK, but not the footprint I had before.

HF is running 80 and 40M channels with vertical antenna until better is available.
Provides better than nothing local coverage. No HF forwarding, so no longer a Hybrid station.

If I can get several days without rain I will improve the antenna situation.

W7YAM-11 Now Supports VARA FM Wide

The W7YAM-11 RMS Packet Gateway @ 144.920 MHz, located within the Yamhill Count EM EOC, was upgraded on Feb 6th, 2024. Removed the old hardware TNC and replaced it with a DRA-50M. Now supports VARA FM Wide as well as Packet via UZ7HO SoundModem. Like all the other W7YAM-XX gateways it will also perform as a Digipeater on both Packet and VARA FM using the Callsign-SSID of W7YAM-6 on the Gateways frequency. Not yet configured with RMS Relay. to behave as a Post Office if Internet becomes unavailable.
