June 8, 2015--Winlink operators are planning now for Field Day. It's worth points (in several ways), and an excellent way to show off the system to those unfamiliar.
The Yahoo group guys at WL2KEmComm make it a little easier by using a database of participating stations willing to exchange Field Day messages. Add your callsign to the database, and copy it just before the event to have a list of callsigns to exchange messages with. Find the database in the 'Database' area. Look for the 2015 database. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wl2kemcomm/
North American (ARRL) Field Day is on June 27-28 this year.
San Diego-based Web, CMS servers, and Web Services were down at 1714 Friday, June 5 UT, for the addition of memory to hardware. Service interruption was minimal. Radio email service continued normally and uninterrupted.
I just received this message from John Kirckof, KB0UUP, Director at IHS. They need radio ops. Call John at 320-634-4386 if you are interested. Here is good reading on what a trip to Honduras with IHS is like.
I just received an update from IHS board members on some of the shortages for the upcoming mission trips. As an IHS supporter, we are very hopeful that joining us will work for you.
Our important need in February.... We need your help as we are in critical need of radio operators ! We can also use docs, pharmacists, nurses plus 1 or 2 NPs or PAs. This includes RNs, LPNs, Paramedics, EMTs, CNAs, etc. . At this point we do need a few more support people but we are working on that, too.
Note... we are already signing up folks for the February trip now as we have quite a few openings.
Also note... Whether this mission trip works for you or not, do talk with others about our need for ham operators plus medical and support people. That is the best way we have to get new folks to join us and to get financial support.
Thanks for any help you can give in support of the very poor of Honduras.
If you use Winlink, or correspond regularly with someone who does, please donate to ARSFI. By giving $25 each year you will do your part to keep this important system running. Donations are tax-deductible by US federal taxpayers. A donation is always the best way to say "thank you" to Winlink volunteers!
The Winlink radio email system and software are built, maintained and supported entirely by volunteers.

The entire Winlink system is dedicated to the volunteer Gateway Station Sysops who support and run the thousand-plus stations around the world. Without them, Winlink would not exist. Be sure to write with generous thanks to the sysops who provide your service ([email protected]).
Volunteers attend daily to the Winlink web site, e-mail groups, tutorial groups, nets, user registrations, access rights, RMS servers, catalog and bulletin updates, and much more. The Winlink Team also receives generous technical input and contributions from authors and developers. We thank the following outstanding contributors for their dependable, invaluable and prominent services and superior work products. Bravo!
